Successful reopening at electroplus küchenplus Dick

Bielefeld/Bad Kreuznach/Zweibrücken, 24 March 2026 – What began in summer 2024 as a strategic succession solution within the electroplus küchenplus family was officially celebrated on 14 January 2026: the Zweibrücken location, previously operated by Joachim Müller under the name electroplus Fuhrmann, has now been ceremoniously opened as electroplus küchenplus Dick.

Horst-Werner Dick had already taken over the business from fellow retailer Joachim Müller on 1 July 2024. The transition was handled professionally and quietly – exactly as one would often wish for in the industry, but not always experience. One aspect was particularly important: the well-established electroplus Fuhrmann team was taken on in its entirety to ensure continuity for local customers. At Dick, however, a conscious decision was made to take the time to celebrate this step properly.
“The takeover of Joachim Müller’s business went smoothly,” says Maximilian Dick, Managing Director and son of Horst-Werner Dick. “Nevertheless, we only now found the opportunity to mark the reopening together with customers and partners.”

Maximilian Dick represents the next generation in specialist retailing. Appointed to the management team two years ago, he is gradually growing into his father’s role, taking on responsibility, driving key topics forward and deliberately networking with like-minded peers. His involvement in the electroplus küchenplus young entrepreneurs’ network is just one visible example of this commitment.

The network, which met for the first time in spring 2025, provides a platform for the next generation of entrepreneurs. It fosters exchange on business models, raises questions about the future and changing customer expectations, and offers direct access to the concept developers of electroplus küchenplus in Bielefeld.

In short: it clearly shows that bricks-and-mortar retail needs not only technology and campaigns, but above all people who continue to develop and rethink it.

Meanwhile, Joachim Müller looks back on his decision with evident satisfaction. The long-standing retailer wanted to settle his succession early and found a solution unusually quickly within his electroplus küchenplus family.
“I’m delighted to have found someone in the Dick company who shares my values, takes over the team and is accepted by the local community,” says Müller. The fact that he himself will remain on board for some time underlines his strong sense of responsibility.

How well the business transfer has been received became clear at the official opening celebration: full showrooms, familiar faces and many curious visitors. A particular highlight was the new Miele outdoor kitchen, which is available exclusively from selected specialist retailers.

Also present were representatives of renowned household appliance and kitchen brands, as well as the electroplus küchenplus team led by Martin Wolf, General Manager Electrical Appliances at EK Retail. Attractive offers, live demonstrations and an entertaining programme turned the specialist store into an industry stage for a day.

What can be observed in Zweibrücken carries a clear message – or, as Christian Bichlmeier, Regional Manager electroplus küchenplus, puts it:
“electroplus küchenplus is not only a successful branded store concept. It is also an entrepreneurial network in which people learn from one another and exceptional succession stories become possible – just like the one now between Dick and Fuhrmann.”
